Sports Massage

WHAT'S THE SPORTS MASSAGE ALL ABOUT?

The Sports Massage is intended to relieve muscle tension and soreness, reduce pain, and improve range of motion. This treatment can be effective in treating a variety of soft tissue injuries. This session is a hands-on technique similar to a deep tissue massage, but this method also uses the patient’s motions to break up the soft tissue.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE SPORTS MASSAGE?

-Massage Techniques (reduces muscle tension, relieves pain, and improves range of motion)

-Cupping Therapy (improves circulation and reduces muscle tension)

-Graston Therapy (breaks up muscle adhesions to allow for better circulation and muscle function)

-Massage Gun (vibration technology to reduce muscle soreness, speed up recovery, and improve sports performance)

-Muscle Stim Unit (reduces pain and stimulates the muscle)

-Chiropractic Adjustments (improve range of motion, posture, and joint health)

HOW DO SOFT TISSUE LESIONS OR "MUSCLE KNOTS" DEVELOP?

poor posture can cause constant tension, pressure, and (or) overuse due to a repetitive motion injury or an acute injury. After an injury, soft tissue first becomes inflamed before it develops a muscle lesion or "knot". Over time, these adhesions can change into leathery tissue that causes chronic issues.

It’s important to have adhesions treated as soon as possible for several reasons. Scar tissue limits blood flow to soft tissue in the area, shortening muscle, and reducing function. This can also lead to numbness, weakness, and pain if the adhesion puts pressure on a nerve.
